Río Breogán will celebrate its 60th anniversary in the top tier of Spanish basketball after a season that can be described as outstanding, judging by the results obtained and the game developed, which captivated the fans. The blue team started the Liga Endesa on October 4 in Lleida with a single goal: to stay in the league. And this was achieved virtually on April 26, in the 28th round, with a brilliant victory against Joventut at the Pazo. It was the 12th laurel of the course for a Lugo squad that finally achieved a remarkable balance: 15-19. Luis Casimiro summarized the campaign that has just concluded in an interview he gave this week to El Progreso with a single word: 'Tranquility'. Certainly, the Lugo team never found itself on the brink of disaster, although there were some moments of turbulent seas in the midst of a calm journey. The competition gave a slap in the face to a Río Breogán that had made a good preseason - it increased its trophies with its 16th Copa Galicia. Lleida, more energetic and intense, defeated it clearly in the debut (87-68). After losing at home to a great Valencia (90-113), there was a turning point in the course, with a win in Zaragoza (84-88); this helped to dispel doubts in the environment and generate confidence in the team, which had six new faces. The Lucenses, in fact, made the Barça work hard in the Palau in the next game (100-85). The blue team achieved three wins and a defeat in its best month in terms of results. The Pazo witnessed two solid victories against rivals that were then 'its league', Granada (95-74) and San Pablo Burgos (105-78). And it did so with added value, after achieving large differences in the always tricky average. The defeat in Lugo against Gran Canaria (81-92) was a disappointment because the Canary Islands team did not demonstrate superiority, but took advantage of the poor start. There was no time for lamentations, as soon as a powerful Río Breogán broke its curse in the always complicated court of Ucam Murcia (83-96). The first break in the competition did not sit well with Luis Casimiro's team, who lost four of the five duels they played until the end of 2025, also conceding many points, which started a stigma that cost them to get rid of: their poor defense. In fact, the Celestes kneeled in Girona (103-80), in a decisive way in the score and in the game, in Badalona (83-75) and at home against Tenerife (96-108) and Baskonia (100-103). A triple by Luwawu-Cabarrot sentenced the Lucenses on a day when the breoganism ended frustrated by the unfortunate arbitration suffered against the Basque team. The victory against Bilbao was a Christmas gift for the faithful of the Pazo in a duel as memorable as exciting (100-99). The dawn of 2026 was excellent for Río Breogán, which crushed the powerful Unicaja on the banks of the Miño with a superb game (98-82). After losing in Manresa in a clash where it was clearly less (104-99), it found a victory of many qualities in Andorra. A winning triple by Alonso was the highlight of a game of faith by the visitors, who remounted
