European basketball is experiencing one of the biggest structural revolutions in its history. The main change will be the imminent arrival of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in October 2027.
Why is it important for Río Breogán?
Río Breogán is one of the 12 ACB clubs that will play in Europe in the 2026-27 season. The Lugo team will have to go through a preliminary phase of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), which will be played between September 14 and 20.
What comes next?
The ECA board has announced more news about the future expansion of the tournament to 24 teams. The EuroLeague agreed to guarantee the principle that all teams will continue to face each other, so it will work to achieve greater integration in the general calendar of European basketball.
